Rural Events at the UN Commission on the Status of Women

Dear Friends

Women from around the world gathered to talk about rural issues at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women at events organized by RDLN on March 3 and 4:

On March 3, we held a panel on “Rural Women’s Access to Education, Training and Employment, with a Focus on Technology.”

Here is a link to the Oral Statement we made on behalf of the Rural Caucus for poor rural women in the U.S. and around the world at the official CSW General Discussion on March 3. http://www.un.org/womenwatch/daw/csw/csw55/statements/Rural-Caucus.pdf

We look forward to seeing you and your colleagues next year and working with you to raise the voices and concerns of poor rural women everywhere.

From RDLN Leaders who were present (Mily Treviño-Sauceda, Board Member,

Nancy Gaynor, Graduate, Martha Beatty, Michelle Cole, and Geri Hewankorn)

Sincerely,                                                                          Shirley
