The 2010 NGO Forum Fund was founded during the 53rd session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women, in order to support the activities of Beijing + 15, the 15th anniversary of the 1995 United Nations Fourth World Women's Conference in Beijing. The Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action became a major advocacy agenda for women worldwide. The 54th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women in 2010 will be devoted to the Implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action.
With your support, the NGO CSW in New York will be able to have year long activities, highlighting the need for implementation of the areas of critical concern in the Beijing Platform for Action. Culmination of the activities will take place on February 26 and 27, 2010, immediately preceding CSW 54. On the day of the 15th anniversary of the 1995 conference, September 15, 2010, there will be a worldwide celebration.
How Your Donations Help
The 2010 NGO Forum Fund is dedicated to promoting a better world for women through advancing their position towards a gender balanced society and to full implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action.
NGO activities will begin in April, 2009 and extend through 2010 to include monthly panel discussions, informative sessions on lobbying, coordination of global regions, maintenance of a website and listserv, and production of the two day NGO Forum in February 2010.
