In February 2011, Special Rapporteur Anand Grover invited comments in preparation for his report on the realization of the right to health of older persons. In response, our Subcommittee on Older Women submitted commentary, informing Special Rapporteur Grover that the draft report did not specifically address older women and directing him to CEDAW‘s General Recommendation 27, which speaks to the special health needs of older women. The Special Rapporteur’s Report of 4 July 2011 (A/HCR/18/37) now includes a paragraph on older women.
